January 24, 2023 Our welder is currently unavailable. As previously reported, tubes need to be reordered, but there may be a source that does not require custom fabrication. Front fairings and rear trunks cannot be manufactured at this time because the molds need to be remade (and the necessary investments cannot be made at this time). The materials for a taller Alagi are currently available, and if there is interest, it could be built. No frame is currently available for the Earthglider. As of today, the first Earthglider has been sold, and the customer has provided positive feedback so far (youtube.com/watch?v=qjAjPub2ibU).
We’re staying on top of things and hope to be able to offer Earthgliders again soon, as we’re convinced of the project’s potential.
November 7, 2020 The “coronavirus” has affected us as well (professionally, not health-wise), so we currently have time again to build new bikes.
Last week, we picked up three frames from the plastic coater. One Earthglider frame has already been sold. Another Earthglider frame is available, and the third frame is for the slightly taller Alagi model and is also still available.
After that, things will get a bit more difficult, because I’ll either have to redesign the frame for different tube dimensions or have a custom batch of tubes manufactured just for us. This decision will also depend in part on the feedback we receive. Unfortunately, our previous source for the frame tubes has “dried up” for the time being.
February 5, 2019 I’m currently fully booked as a development contractor and therefore can’t build any Earthgliders right now (I have to make a living, after all). It’s still unclear when I’ll be able to offer a bike again.
August 4, 2018 The first production Earthglider is complete and available for sale. The first Earthglider is being sold at a reduced price (6,000 euros) because the rear fairing has some quality defects.
The new front fairing is ready, and it is likely the first front fairing for partially fairing-equipped lowriders that noticeably reduces drag. This is made possible by the patent-pending “high nose”—specifically, the high-positioned stagnation point, the foremost point, or “nose.” As a result, the air is effectively deflected downward, breaks away at the lower edge of the fairing, and the rider is no longer in the airflow but in the slipstream of the front fairing.
The Earthglider is thus likely the fastest partially-fairing recumbent suitable for everyday use and travel with such a high eye level and a recline angle of 30°.
The current fairings are prototypes with cosmetic flaws. Nevertheless, they are sold as “full-fledged” products: According to plan, once series production begins, Earthglider buyers will automatically receive a high-quality new fairing without having to pay for it again. Should this series not materialize, the prototypes will retain their special value despite the flaws due to their unique characteristics. The cost of the prototypes was significantly higher anyway.
The new frame, featuring the steerer tube suspension system developed by Aurilion, is currently being tested in the first prototype and is proving its worth. To my knowledge, no other steerer tube suspension system can match the Earthglider fork’s remaining steerer tube diameter of 35 mm. This makes the Earthglider fork more robust than presumably any other fork with steerer tube suspension. The suspension comfort is also very good, and the breakaway torque is very low thanks to Igus elements and a long guide length. The fork can be used continuously without play because the play can be adjusted from the outside without disassembly and because the guide elements can be replaced. A patent application has also been filed for the steerer tube suspension.

May 4, 2018 Aurilion exhibited the Earthglider and the Alagi at the Specialty Bicycle Fair in Germersheim. The bikes feature a new suspension fork with a proprietary, patent-pending 1.5-inch steerer tube suspension system.
This is likely the first steerer tube suspension system to feature a 35-mm steerer tube diameter made from 25CrMo4 tubing, which is guided within an adjustable slide guide, ensuring the suspension remains play-free over the long term. The already durable slide elements from Igus can still be replaced if necessary.
We also presented the prototype of a new type of front fairing, from which we expect aerodynamic benefits. A patent application has also been filed for this fairing. While the bikes were not actively promoted primarily due to the suspension solution—which had not yet been entirely satisfactory—we now consider them fully developed and ready for sale.

July 31, 2015 The Earthglider has completed its first few hundred kilometers. It has fully met expectations; it is very comfortable, fast, and beautiful. The front fairing is still missing, so its weather resistance is limited. Other details also await completion.
April 25, 2015 The Earthglider and its slightly taller sibling, the Alagi, are (almost) finished and received positive feedback at Spezi 2015 (www.spezialradmesse.de).

2012 Aurilion has developed a series of concepts for highly efficient mobility with high performance. The concepts involve two- and four-wheeled vehicles powered by human muscle, electric motors, and internal combustion engines. Performance ranges from speeds of 25 km/h to over 200 km/h with good road handling, and is in every case higher than that of comparably efficient vehicles known to date.
